CC Art Printmaking
I’m an Australian printmaker working under the name CC Art Printmaking, based in my studio in Dunach, near Clunes in central Victoria. My practice centres on relief printmaking — primarily lino cut — ranging from bold, graphic single-plate works through to more detailed multi-plate and reduction prints.
Alongside traditional carving, I’ve been exploring greyscale, “newspaper photo” style images using a Dremel to create halftone dot textures and tonal gradients. This approach allows me to work with light, shadow, and texture in a way that sits somewhere between printmaking and illustration, while still remaining very hands-on and process-driven.
Much of my work draws on recurring themes and series, including steampunk and gothic imagery, dogs, portraiture, and visual wordplay. I also produce a growing body of political satire, most notably a series of re-imagined book covers that reinterpret well-known literary works through a contemporary political lens.
Whether figurative or satirical, my prints are designed to be lived with — strong silhouettes, high contrast, and an emphasis on craft, texture, and personality. Most works are limited editions of prints and are sized to suit readily available standard frames.
